Hunting in Mozambique with Roy's Hunting Safaris

Our legally government contracted, hunting, fishing & nature concession is 360000 HA on the southern banks of the magnificent lake Cahorra Bassa in the Tete province of central Mozambique. This 360 km long lake is our northern border ensuring magnificent nature settings when out in the field. Our 4x camp is right on the lake with nobody in sight or sound, but close to at our lovely bush camp, called Sable Hills.

This area is big & wild! – not a fenced off game farm – true real Africa – open and unspoilt! (Look at our gallery).

Clients would fly into South Africa or Blantyre Malawi. From here you will be transferred by charter aircraft to Songo airfield (at the Cahorra Bassa dam wall), to clear customs and then a short hop over to Magoe airfield.

This is our real African little large village on the north eastern border of our concession. After a quick visit to Magoe we travel either by our fully rigged fishing boat or by safari vehicle to Sable Hills camp which is set on a hill with 180 degree lake views all day and night, with the sun, moon & lake setting the scene for the best memories & photos imaginable. (Flights & road travel via Zimbabwe becomes increasingly more popular & will be offered as an option.)

Hunting Information

From the time of your arrival until your departure from Mozambique, we will ensure that your hunting experience is comfortable, exciting and rewarding.

You will have the choice of either; set price packages, or a standard daily rate with a separate animal price list.

On confirmation of your booking, you will be supplied with all the necessary information on the species you will be hunting, their habits, habitat, identification features of males and females, as well as recommended rifle carriers.

As all hunting will be conducted on foot, it would be advisable to be in good shape before your departure.

Although every effort is made to ensure that your hunt is successful, no guarantees can be expressed.

The privilege of hunting such a venue, will allow the hunter to hunt a variety of trophy African species, in an environment that will not only test your stamina and hunting skills, but also provide a truly unforgettable experience, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Daily rates (US $ per person):
1 Client with 1 Professional hunter – $850
2 Clients with 1 Professional hunter – $750
4 Clients with 2 Professional hunters – $750
Non hunting observer – $250

Daily rates include:
1. The service of a qualified, experienced Professional hunter
2. The service of experienced skinners, trackers and staff
3. All meals and soft drinks
4. Accommodation during safari
5. Daily laundry service
6. Hunting licenses
7. Local transport during contracted safari period
8. Field preparation of trophies
9. One hunting vehicle per Professional hunter

Daily rate does not include:
1. Accommodation and transport fees prior to and after contracted safari period
2. Air fares and charter flights
3. All items, personal of nature, including gratuities, telephone calls or fax communication
4. Personal and Medical insurance
5. Hire of rifles and ammunition
6. Trophy fees of animals taken or wounded
7. The preparation, packing, documentation and export of trophies from Mozambique

General Information

Hunting season
The best periods for hunting in Mozambique are from 01 June through to 30 November.

Vehicles
All our hunting vehicles are well-maintained four-wheel drive vehicles that are fitted out with all necessary equipment to ensure a trouble free safari.

Taxidermist
We only make use of established and reputable taxidermists who are masters of their craft and who will ensure your trophies capture the essence of the animal itself.
