The big, ever persent Limpopo River flows into the warm Indian ocean 180 km North of the Capital Maputo, thus making it very easily accessible by plane & vehicle. Accommodation is provided in Zongoene Lodge (www.zongoenelodge.co.za) or the camp sites available.

The area is reasonable remote from other establishments thus making fishing and private beaches much more explicit and private. The river mouth is home to local fishermen and clients relaxing and sea launching is done through the mouth.

The area has cycad forests, the magnificent lighthouse look and moonrises and sunsets over sea and land to die for.

4x4 trails, quad routes and river cruises fills up the rest of this sub–tropical remote paradise.

Our Ski boat with 3 skippers is very well equipped and well maintained. 2 crew and 6 anglers enjoy action fishing with 4 rods max in the water. The sea bed (fishing area) just a few minites out of the mouth, is filled with reefs varying in depth, making fishing easy and very rewarding. Here it is always warm, pleasant and a cool southerly wind presents to enjoy the perfect sundowner. Book your place.

Whale watching is done in the winter months from July to end of October when the whales are migrating down to Hermanus etc searching the colder waters. It is arguably As good as down south.

Diving is also done in the winter months. Water temp stays above 22 celsius, we have many reefs and even our own wreck or 2!!

For relaxing - just the plain good old booze cruise north up the river seeing the sunset ? eissh!!

Package for CAMPESCA (FISHCAMP): Southern Mozambique

CAMPESCA is built for the the fisherman, marine & coastal enthusiast in southern Mozambique. CAMPESCA is on the fantastic Limpopo river mouth, midway between Xai- Xai & Bilene, approx 9 hours drive from Pretoria.

CAMPESCA is private, with camping at it's best- for up to 12 guests with:
Nice hot shower, flush toilet, protected tent areas, 6 x large pitched 2 man tents provided, fireplace & wood, store room, guest kitchen, kitchen unit with gas stove & oven, deep freezer, fridge, electric lights, generator for 12v & small 220v items, 24 hours Mcel mobile reception in camp (own antenna).

All these plus camp chairs, kitchen utensils, 2 x staff, boat crew, 22ft ski boat & fuel, light boat pack & fish tackle included & for your decided exclusive use !!!

We only accommodate 1 group at a time, may it be fishing, whale watching diving or adventuring in the area, or combined activity.

All fish species from sailfish, cuta, dorado, kingfish, reef fish, etc., are found & caught in large numbers here with us.

You rent the camp by prior reservation/arrangement as described/agreed.
